Jessica Fraser | Assistant Service Manager

Growing up Jessica always wanted to be a mechanic and spent many of her childhood years around cars and motorsports. Her father was in the automotive industry and being a huge car enthusiast himself, Jessica’s career choice was no surprise to him. Jessica fondly recalls trips out to Western Springs Speedway on summer afternoons and through the winter months as the Fraser family would often spend their time at the track. If it was raining, they would resort to watching V8 Super Cars or Formula 1 on the television and occasionally battle each other playing ‘need for speed’ on PlayStation.

When Jessica left school in 2008, she followed through with her dream of working in the automotive industry and secured a job with AHG NZ dealership North Harbour Ford. Although she didn’t end up pursuing a mechanic’s career path, she did try her hand at many different roles within the dealership and has progressively risen through the ranks over her 12 years with the business so far.

Jessica’s career with AHG started out as a vehicle detailer. Within a year she was quickly promoted to the dealership’s Customer Relations Officer (CRO), responsible for building important relationships between the dealership and its customers with the view to improve overall service retention. After achieving significant success in this position, Jessica transitioned into a Service Advisor role in mid 2011, and not long after was promoted to a Senior Service Advisor role where she mentored incoming CROs and provided key support to the service management team.

As of March 2017, Jessica is proud to be the first ever female Assistant Service Manager in the AHG NZ Group, working alongside Service Manager Paul Cartmell in the state-of-the-art North Harbour Ford Service Centre on Hillside Road. Her core role involves looking after customers and supporting front line staff while ensuring the workshop runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible. On top of this however, she now also assists with administrative and warranty work for the department while stepping in for Paul when he is away.

“It’s a busy job with new challenges every day but I love the thrill” says Jessica. “No one really likes to bring in their vehicle to get fixed, it’s like going to the Dentist, but I enjoy making the experience as easy and enjoyable as I can for the customer. I get so much satisfaction seeing customers leave with a smile on their faces because of the great service they received from our team”.

When the garage doors are shut, Jessica enjoys getting into a good book or listening to music. We’re sure the odd Fraser Speedway trip, rainy afternoon watching motorsport on TV or good old PlayStation battle still takes place on occasion too!
