With the Automotive Industry in its biggest transformation period seen in years, this critical role will see you lead a great team of Service Advisors, Technicians and Apprentices to drive an exceptional customer experience. As a proven leader, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a busy team, offer exceptional problem-solving / troubleshooting skills, combined with the ability to balance the demands of a dynamic environment.
What you will do
The Service Manager carries out a range of duties related to managing the Service Department including:
- Lead, Coach, Mentor and manage employees
- Drive workshop labour sales
- Focus on technician productivity and efficiency
- Accurately cost and close jobs
- Consistently achieve or exceed financial targets
- Manage department expenses with a continual cost out mindset
- Solving complex logistical and technical issues
- Working with staff to achieve great CRM
- Continual customer experience improvement
What you will need
If you think you can create a high performing team that not only meets benchmark targets, but exceeds them, then we want to meet you. Applicants must have and demonstrate:
- Superb people skills and the ability to build strong, lasting, and exceptional customer relationships with strong focus on customer experience and retention
- A proven track record in a Team Leader, Assistant Service Manager or Service Manager role, with an understanding of automotive dealership operations particularly all fixed operations e.g., Workshops
- Ability to hire, train and motivate a dedicated team
- Highly process driven with a focus on achieving results
- Ability to communicate and build relationships with our distributors
- Inventory management skills
- Ability to understand a Profit & Loss reporting for the Service Department with the ability to identify opportunity and action appropriately
- Excellent communication skills with your team, and senior management
- A positive and performance driven attitude, thriving on achieving goals, targets and KPI's while loving the sense of achievement that success brings
- Experience in safe and healthy work environments
- Strong business acumen and ability to manage multiple stakeholders
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and sound computer skills
