Eagers Automotive NZ celebrates its 9th year Long Service Awards at the stunning Mantells Mt Eden Venue

Thursday 9th November saw the team of long service employees come together at the beautiful Mantells Mt Eden venue to formally recognise 1039 years of continuous employee service and to mark key employment milestones for 2023.

All employees employed by Eagers Automotive for a continuous period of 5 years or more are invited to attend the event. All employees who enter a Long Service milestone within the year receive an award recognising their special achievement. The evening was hosted in a relaxed and informal way and enabled guests more time to enjoy, engage and interact with their colleagues and peers throughout the evening.

2023 Employee Milestones

17 milestones were celebrated during this year’s event (5 x 20 year, 3 x 15 year, 9 x 10) year awards with 13% of EANZ staff have 10 years+ service, 32% with 5+ years. Long service employees represent an extremely diverse range of roles each and every one vital to the success of the group. Positions held by 2023 recipients include workshop foreman, Service Manager, Receptionist, IT Team leader, Parts Supervisor vehicle detailer, sales consultant, business manager, receptionist and more.

EGM Recognition Awards

2023 introduced an unexpected category aimed to recognise and reward performance excellence and value based behaviours across our business over 2023. Voted by their team leaders and endorsed by EANZ General Manager, Mike Critchley. All winners were awarded with a $500 voucher to spend on the Eagers Automotive Rewards site. recipients were able to choose Weber BBQ, Nespresso Coffee Machine to name a few.

Jack Hu - Sales Team Member, Easyauto123

Jack was awarded through his owners mindset, responsible and reliable for all work throughout the dealership and is often the point of contact other staff turn to.

Nishani Subasinghage - Accountant, North Harbour

Nishani has been an integral cog in the North Harbour Group Admin team. Without hesitation she has demonstrated a strong owners mindset and a high level of agility by taking on extra tasks, regularly reviewing improvement opportunities and using her initiative to get the job done.

Helena Jordan – Service Manager, John Andrew

Transforming the business whilst providing a caring and supportive working environment for the 22+ staff onsite. Helena, will finish her emerging leaders course this week with Eagers NZ and we hope she puts those learnings to great use going forward.

Xing Yu – Brand Manager, John Andrew Ford

Xing continues to thrive and develop not only for himself but his team. His commitment, enthusiasm & drive every day disciplines which yields desire outcomes is a Xing’s strongpoint. Xing, is a well-respected member of JAF senior leadership group and his contribution to John Andrews is immense.

Anthony has always shown great passion and integrity when dealing with myself and the Harbour Business. ‘Always ready to roll up his sleeves and muck in’ Outstanding work ethic and commitment to the business is outstanding and deserves recognition.

Addressing the room, Mike Critchley (EANZ Country General Manager) thanks all employees for their commitment, dedication and continued support to the business. Looking into the future of the automotive industry Mike summarised a recent eye-opening trip to China. The extent and speed of technological advancement within the automotive sector is staggering. The focus on Automation and AI incorporation for upcoming vehicles but also with the buyer journey and consumer expectations. As this change accelerates, we will need to be ready for new and exciting opportunities and challenges it will bring.
