Gina Sim | Fleet Sales Consultant
Gina Sim has been a Fleet Sales Consultant in the AHG group for 6 and a half years. Gina’s sales philosophy doesn’t necessarily fit the traditional mould; where others see barriers, she sees opportunity, a standout way of thinking and approaching problems that is highly valued in this business. An approach that will become even more valuable as we exit ‘lockdown’ and enter the post Covid-19 era!
“I enjoy being part of a dynamic team and pride myself on being there for all of my client’s requirements; the nature of how I operate is that nothing is a problem. Problems are not problems they simply are opportunities for solutions. Delivering the final product to a happy client is always the highlight of my day!”
Gina has a much deserved ‘one-stop fleet shop’ reputation. She is the type of leader who is constantly coming up with innovative new approaches to sales; centred on surpassing client expectations. Always looking to go beyond the ‘this is how we’ve always done it’ approach – good can always be made better. Whether it’s by delivering lolly jars to fleet companies or hosting Lawn Bowls events for her clients, it’s all about stand out from the crowd through positive engagement and attention to detail.
Gina didn’t start out in automotive, before coming to it she spent 10 years in the hospitality industry; overseeing sales and events for large hotel chains, including the likes of Rydges, Carlton and Centra. From there, she moved into the FMCG world, working for New Zealand’s favourite biscuit company, Griffins. Following that, she got her first taste of the car industry through a role in fleet sales at John Andrew Ford and Mazda. However, this was only to be a relatively brief exposure – her life path changed again, and she was led off to Brazil on yet another adventure. The allure of the Brazilian culture and way of life wrapped around Gina for four years – while there she ran her own conversational English & cultural immersion coaching business.
However, the Kiwi way of life irresistibly managed to call her back home. Fleet Sales, with its “never a dull moment”, “everything yesterday” fast paced momentum grabbed Gina’s attention again and backed up with the incredible client relationships she’d forged while at John Andrew’s, she embraced the challenge and opportunities presented to her in a new role at North Harbour Ford and Mazda. As they say, the rest is history!
In addition to being a professional high achiever, Gina, her husband and Hugo the dog, enjoy an active social life. Gina loves to entertain; her specialty is Mediterranean cuisine. To top things off she’s a huge Warriors fan – let’s hope we all get to see them take to the field again very soon.
